Qualifications for Board of Governers

Officers’ Roles

  • President

    • a. Manage content for monthly leadership conference call
    • b. Manage board of governors agenda during annual conference
    • c. Request updates on membership/financials, etc. from leadership team
    • d. Represent ACC to industry, including all designated events
    • e. Be accountable for direction of ACC
    • f. Manage budget process with treasurer and association
    • g. Review/approve final agenda for conferences
    • h. Preside over conferences, including business and board of governors meeting
    • i. Approve “Spin” (periodic newsletter to members)

  • First Vice President

    • a. Define budget for conference and manage event for budget
    • b. Work with liaison to source presenters for the conference set up, including confirming topics, gathering bios and headshots, and providing this information to association for production of marketing materials to members and on-line and printed agendas.
    • c. Welcome and introduce all speakers

  • Second Vice President

    • a. Responsible for monitoring membership activities
    • b. Organize and facilitate Webinar and teleconversation series
    • c. Report on current membership levels
    • d. Lead effort on tactical base for membership drive options (see within budget)
    • e. Take minutes in board of governors’ meetings in event of secretary’s absence
    • f. Manage any membership campaigns within designated budget guidelines
    • g. Serve as facilitator for any special projects (i.e., Web site redesign, etc.)

  • Treasurer

    • a. Be accountable for budgets for conferences, membership drives, scholarships and other expenses
    • b. Coordinate budget with association
    • c. Recommend financial options concerning budget of ACC
    • d. Recommend possible donations/sponsorship and recommend to board
    • e. Review budget for fall and spring conferences with first vice president

  • Secretary

    • a. Take minutes and notes for board of governors meeting for distribution by liaison
    • b. Notify second vice president to take minutes in event of absence from board of governors’ meetings

  • ACC Board

    • a. Attend all board meetings and conference calls during two-year term
    • b. Provide input and feedback on all programs and ACC goals
    • c. Vote on relevant issues and provide direction to officers
    • d. Fill in for officers if absent during meetings or calls
